Forsythe Appraisals to Host Think Tank Event for Appraisal Management Companies.
St. Paul, MN — Forsythe Appraisals announced that they will host their second Chief Appraiser
Think Tank Event on March 6, 2007-March 7, 2007, in Orlando, Florida. This will be Forsythe’s first event
geared specifically to addressing the needs and challenges of appraisal management
companies.
Forsythe Appraisals held their inaugural think tank event in September 2006 in Washington D.C.
which attracted chief appraisers and industry experts from across the country.
“The think tank format is designed to provide a forum for chief appraisers
to share insights and opinions on current issues and trends impacting the appraisal
industry,” said John Forsythe, president of Forsythe Appraisals. “The event is inspired
by the need for sound decision-making by appraisal users and the public. We anticipate
that the outcome of this event will ultimately lead to improved performance of residential
Some of the proposed agenda items include: Operational Issues and Challenges at A M C’s, Appraisal
Independence, Appraiser Due Diligence, The Use of AVM’s in Valuation and Quality
Control, and Secondary Market Guidelines, among other topics.
Alan Hummel, Forsythe Appraisals’ senior vice president and chief appraiser, will once again take the
helm as moderator for the round table format event.
“We wanted to host an event exclusively for appraisal management companies because we knew
they would offer a unique market perspective,” stated Hummel. “As regulators have
increased the need for appraisal independence, appraisal management companies are
much more in demand, providing a larger role in the industry than ever before.”
In addition to the appraisal management think tank event, Forsythe Appraisals is planning to
host their second Chief Appraiser Think Tank Event for lending institutions on September
19, 2007-September 21, 2007 in Washington
