FORSYTHE APPRAISALS IN REVIEW
As a result of continued
growth and commitment to providing quality appraisals for their customers, Forsythe
Appraisals LLC, the largest independent provider of residential real estate appraisals
in the country, announces the opening of their National Review Division in Des Moines,
Iowa.
The Review Division will be Forsythe Appraisal’s first office dedicated exclusively
to review appraisals.
According to John Forsythe, president, the decision to open the Review Division was
based on response to the growing needs of their customers—specifically larger national
banks and lenders.
“While we will continue to do field review appraisals at our local
branches, the new division will provide our clients with a range of review products,
including traditional desktop appraisals as well as alternative valuation products,”
he said.
“We see this somewhat as a “one stop shop” for lenders seeking support
for their own quality assurance objectives.”
Senior Vice President
and Chief Appraiser, Alan Hummel, said, “All appraisal reports will be prepared
by experienced review appraisal specialists. And like the rest of branches, our
appraisals are never outsourced which enables us to really focus on quality.
Additionally, having 39
branches nationwide provides us with unique access to
multiple national databases and MLS listings.
Having intimate knowledge of local markets is a significant advantage for us.”
The division will be headed by 15-year appraisal veteran, Karen Oberman, SRA. Ms.
Oberman comes to Forsythe Appraisals from Iowa Residential Appraisal Company (IRAC)
where she held the position of President since 2003. During her
career, Karen has had the opportunity to be actively involved at many levels of the
profession, including the state and national level. Karen has been involved
with the Iowa Real Estate Appraiser Examining Board and was Chair of that board
in 2005. During her tenure on the state board, Karen was instrumental in the development
of the work product review program, and also chaired the disciplinary committee.
Karen also has had the opportunity to serve the appraisal profession at the national
level as an Appraisal Qualifications Board (AQB) member in 2006.
